Why get involved?
You’ll get the most out of your Boise State experience if you get involved with something outside the classroom. It gives you the opportunity to meet other great people, apply your learning in real settings, and pursue something you are passionate about. You’ll have great experiences and the opportunity to contribute something special to the Boise State community.
How to get involved
There are a few different ways to be involved with ASBSU. Perhaps the most obvious is to run for an office (like President or Assembly Member) or to apply to work for ASBSU. However, the most common way that students are involved in ASBSU is through other student organizations. One of the most important things ASBSU does is support student organizations, which means that we want to see as many students as possible doing great things in their clubs.
ASBSU is also always looking for students who would be willing to sit on University Committees on campus. As the voice of the students, ASBSU is responsible for ensuring that students sit on committees that make important decisions for our university. The ASBSU President appoints students whenever vacancies occur, and usually makes a lot of appointments in the first few weeks of the fall and spring semesters. If you are interested in being available to serve on a committee, please email any one of our executive members. Their contact information can be found on the Contact Us tab to the left.
If you don’t see anything you are interested in, you can even Start a new Student Organization!
Here are a few examples of committees that our Student Assembly members fill:
Bookstore Advisory Board
Campus Recreation Advisory Board
Campus Sustainability Advisory Board
Children’s Center Advisory Board
